Rooted in the Region. Digitally Connected.
Tamedia is taking its regional media brands to the next digital level. Step by step, selected regional titles are being integrated into the established core brands BZ Berner Zeitung and Tages-Anzeiger. The goal is to create a consistent, modern user experience with greater reach, high journalistic quality, and a clear focus on regional reporting.
A first milestone: since March 17, 2025, the Langenthaler Tagblatt has been published under the BZ Berner Zeitung brand. Readers now benefit from an expanded journalistic offering - local, regional, and national.
By the end of April, additional titles will be integrated. The Langenthaler Tagblatt, Berner Oberländer, and Thuner Tagblatt will be transitioned as digital offerings into the BZ Berner Zeitung. Likewise, the digital content of the Landbote, Zürcher Unterländer, and Zürichsee-Zeitung will move to the Tages-Anzeiger. Print editions will remain in place, while digital platforms will be redirected to the websites and apps of the new umbrella brands. The transition will be clearly communicated: existing logins will remain valid, and new features – such as personalized news apps – will offer users even greater convenience.
Despite the realignment, the core remains unchanged: dedicated editorial teams that stay close to the action and continue to report from their regions. Tamedia is preparing regional journalism for the future: digital, connected, and close to its readers.
You can find more information about the transition on the websites of the respective titles.
