Branded content appears transparently at Tamedia. Every commercial piece is clearly identified as such.
In Tamedia’s media brands, alongside traditional advertising, we also feature content labelled as Branded Content. This term refers to commercial articles that appear in a journalistic environment — both visually and editorially — but are commissioned by advertisers and produced by our Commercial Content Team.
All formats are clearly marked as advertising and carry a visible label. Below is an overview of the labels used by Tamedia for both digital and print implementations:
Sponsored Content
Under the «Sponsored» label, paid content appears in the look and feel of our media brands. These articles are visually and linguistically aligned with the editorial environment and focus on topics relevant to readers, linked to the advertiser’s product or service. They are either fully produced by Tamedia’s Commercial Content Team or based on material provided by the client.
Tamedia places great importance on transparent and clear labelling of Sponsored Content. Online, such articles are clearly marked with the «Sponsored» label in both the teaser and the article itself. In print editions, the declaration appears in the header line. Additionally, each article includes an infobox at the end stating that the content was produced by the Commercial Content Team or the client.
Presented by
Under the «Presented by» label, longer and more in-depth articles are published. They address topics of interest to readers and link them with the advertiser’s brand. These pieces are exclusively conceived and produced by Tamedia’s Commercial Content Team — from concept and text to visuals, video, infographics, and design.«Presented by»
Transparency is key: online, the articles are clearly marked «Presented by» along with the client’s name in both teaser and article view. In print, the label appears in the header line, and an infobox at the end of the article notes that the content was produced by Tamedia’s Commercial Content Team.
Publireportage
Publireportages are traditional print advertising formats that are visually separated from editorial content. They are supplied or commissioned by the client and usually focus on a specific product or service. They are always clearly labelled as «Publireportage.»
Advertorial
Advertorials represent another form of branded content. They combine informative and promotional messages and are visually and linguistically distinct from editorial articles. They are created by or on behalf of the client and are always clearly marked as such.
Classic Ads and Banners
Traditional advertisements and banners are not considered branded content. They are fully provided by the advertiser without any involvement from the Commercial Content Team, and they are visually separated from editorial content according to Tamedia’s advertising standards.
Transparent Labelling of Branded Content
All branded content formats at Tamedia are clearly labelled:
- Online: Each piece is marked with the corresponding label in both teaser and article view.
- Print: The label appears in the header line.
- All formats: An infobox at the end of the article indicates that the content was produced by the Commercial Content Team in collaboration with an advertiser.
