For the 21st time, the « SonntagsZeitung », « Finanz und Wirtschaft », and the French-speaking Swiss business magazine « Bilan » presented the awards for Switzerland’s best collective pension foundations. The award ceremony took place last week at the Zunfthaus zur Meisen in Zurich.

Arthur Rutishauser, Editor-in-Chief of the « SonntagsZeitung », welcomed guests from the pension and financial sectors. The evening was hosted by Josef Zopp, CEO of Weibel Hess & Partner and author of the renowned PK Rating. At the end of the presentation, Dominic Geisseler from the « SonntagsZeitung » presented a total of ten awards to the winning pension institutions.

The awards are based on the annual pension fund comparison conducted by consultancy firm Weibel Hess & Partner (pensionskassenvergleich.ch). Pension funds and collective foundations that achieve outstanding results across various categories are recognised.

The award for the highest investment return over five years among semi-autonomous joint and collective foundations once again went to Profond Pension Foundation, repeating last year’s success. With an average return of 4.56% between 2021 and 2025, it outperformed Noventus and Ascaro, which ranked second and third respectively.

Among collective foundations with full insurance coverage, Pax achieved the best result, posting an average return of 0.92% over five years. This year’s Innovation Award was shared by two institutions: Profond Pension Foundation and Abendrot Foundation.

The pension fund rating is regarded as one of the most important benchmarking studies in the Swiss pension industry. It provides companies and insured individuals with a reliable basis for assessing pension institutions.
